December 1, 2023 — COUNTY ASSESSOR ELECTED TO INTERNATIONAL BOARD
Cleveland County Assessor, Doug Warr was recently elected as the Region 1 representative on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). IAAO is an organization that has a membership of more than 8,500 members worldwide for professionals in property valuation, property tax policy, and related fields. It establishes industry technical standards for mass appraisal, provides professional development, education and designations to assessors, appraisers, and other industry stakeholders. November 30, 2023 — PROPERTY TAX STATEMENTS OUT FOR DELIVERY
Cleveland County Treasurer Jim Reynolds and his staff have initiated the distribution of annual tax statements to property owners in Cleveland County. While Reynolds and his team do not determine property tax rates or assign property values, under state law they are tasked with collecting those bills each year. Download press release here.

November 9, 2023 — CLEVELAND COUNTY BACKS LOCAL INNOVATORS
NORMAN, Okla. — Recognizing the importance entrepreneurs play as an emerging economic driver in Cleveland County, the Board of County Commissioners affirmed Nov. 13-19, 2023, as Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) on Monday, Nov. 6 with a formal resolution. Download press release.

July 31, 2023 — Cleveland County approves $1 Million in ARPA funding to support upgrades at Norman Regional HealthPlex
Norman, Okla. — Cleveland County Commissioners awarded $1 million to Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) federal funding to create additional treatment rooms for the emergency department. Download full press release here.
May 31, 2023 — Cleveland County celebrates juvenile center upgrades
Cleveland County celebrated the completion of Phase I of a multi-million-dollar upgrade of the Alan J. Couch Juvenile Detention Center with a ribbon cutting on May 31. Phase I provides 12,500 square feet of detention and educational space. Funded by public safety sales tax money approved by county voters, Phase I of the project added two mental health safe rooms, two ADA compliant rooms, a new outdoor recreation area and other detention space improvements to enhance safety for detainees and staff. May 19, 2023 — Cleveland County provides additional ARPA funding to support Veterans
NORMAN, Okla. — After awarding the American Legion Post 88 with $330,000 in November 2022, Cleveland County Commissioners voted to obligate the remaining $170,000 of veteran-focused American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support four additional local nonprofits who serve veterans throughout Cleveland County. The Norman VFW Post 4890 will receive $6,000, Envision Success will receive $67,000, Lexington’s American Legion VFW Post 301 will receive $67,000 and Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation will receive $30,000. This brings Cleveland County’s total ARPA investment in veterans to $500,000. Download press release here.

Norman, Okla. — Cleveland County Commissioners voted to obligate $3.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to provide improvements to Cleveland County Rural Water District (RWD) No. 1, as well as ancillary system and equipment purchases as necessary to improve operations and ultimately service to existing rural customers.
